Following Mr Leighton Andrews' brilliant and incisive speech (and in Welsh too!) at the Eisteddfod - widely seen as the opening shot of his leadership challenge, it is surely time to rally behind what I believe to be the most brilliant political mind of his generation.
Not only was Mr Andrews responsible for delivering the Devolution victory in 1997, but his call for ‘double devolution’ through the empowerment of local communities is a timely masterstroke of innovative political thinking which will change the face of Welsh politics. However, political acumen alone is not enough. Mr Andrews’ sparkling personality and a charismatic physical presence which exudes a powerful magnetic charm make him a doubly attractive choice as the next leader of Welsh Labour, and, more importantly, First Minister of Wales. Now that he has mastered the Welsh language, he will be more than a match for far less charismatic and intellectually gifted figures such as Carwyn Jones and Huw Lewis – the other front-runners in the contest.
If anyone is planning a ’Leighton for Leader’ campaign, I for one will gladly join.

I agree. It is not about Piggy Andrews or Screw Loose Lewis at all.
It is about Labour's failure - and their miserable snouts firmly in the trough. You can't accuse either the Lib Dems or Plaid Cymru about having noses in the trough - not even the damnable Tories. Labour are the authentic swine of our generation.
Lets's make sure we get rid of these freeloading bastards at the first opportunity!

Everyone in Wales knows that Leighton Andrews is called “Piggy” ...for goodness sake we’ve known that for a long time. That’s not the point of this cartoon Prof Dan Ish (I suspect you might be a pseudonym). It is a perceptive and general comment about New/Welsh Labour. All of them from Don ‘Godfather’ Touhig to Huw ‘Screw Loose’ Lewis (yes..S c r u w Lo o o i s... geddit??!!) are in this for the money because they know full well that Labour is finished in Wales. They need to fill the coffers before the end comes. The only decent man amongst them incidentally is Carwyn Jones – he at least is a Welshman.
The cartoon is about the greed and the hypocrisy of New/Welsh Labour. Pigs with snouts in the trough. Look at the income of the Kinnock clan. When will the poor people of the Valleys see what these scumbags have done, and are still doing to them?

Dear Sir,

As a forensic scientist of international repute mainly working in the field of image recognition (The identifying of terrorism suspects from blurred surveillance camera footage and such like), I am sometimes asked to apply my considerable skills to the capture of criminals who wish to elude capture by wearing plastic false moustaches and glasses of the type that can be obtained cheaply from any reputable toy shop.

Recently , a Welsh friend requested that I scientifically dissect your image posted here, of what I assumed was a pig wallowing in cash ' West Brit'.

Careful analysis much to my surprise however, has concluded that you had in fact taken a genuine photograph (Which I have since sourced to a 2002 edition of the ITV Wales Year Book) of a Mr. Leighton Andrews.

I was aware of the saying that in parts of Wales a donkey would be elected if it stood for Labour but have you now taken to electing swine ?
