Most Conservatives think Melding is mad, so no chance of any of his ravings being adopted as policy. The sooner that Melding buggers off and joins Plaid or the Lib Dems the better.

The only way this is a potential vote-winner for the Tories is if the party itself actually adopts the message, on a Welsh and also I think British level. Cold day in Hell springs to mind...

Good on David Melding for having the guts and vision to say something interesting and thought out on devolution. Pity he's not in government he's a sensitive and sensible politician.

Now, what do Labour AM's (who are in power and expect to be so after 2011) have to say? Where do they expect or want Wales to be (as opposed to warning us all about the dangers of independence)?

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/2009/06/29/tory-am-calls-for-a-welsh-parliament-in-a-federal-british-state-91466-24008146/

The Western Mail always seem to go to this rent a quote MP, David Davies, Conservative MP for Monmouth – a former Assembly Member and a leading devo-sceptic, for anything negative about Wales and its future.

In fact it seems as if it is only to him they do go, I am glad I have stopped buying it.

We realy do need a Welsh daily newspaper.
