Oh dear......the old comments about whether we should have an assembly again.
Right here goes....if just 1% more of my fellow countrymen (and women) could have been bothered to have got off their rotund behinds and voted against the assembly when they had the chance - instead of later bleating that they never wanted the thing in the first place - we wouldn't have one now.
But that is not what happened, so if you beleive in democracy then you have to support the view that 'the majority' however small, who actually voted, were in favour. So we have got it, it's staying and we have to make the most of it. I am a Tory who hopes to be selected as a candidate for the next assembly election. l voted against it and my narural instrinct is that we would have been off without it - but none of that matters - so lets get on with it and get rid of the (Labour/Plaid Cymru) Punch and Judy show in 2011.

I thank you.

To be honest- UKIPs opinion about the European union is almost exactly the same to my opinion about the British union.

To (semi) quote UKIP
'We want friendship and free trade with our neighbours, not political union'
and
'No country should be dictated to by a parliament sitting in another'

I wonder what UKIPs opinion about the ever growing Independence movement in Wales would be?

So it seems as if some of the leading UKIP members might know something about the Continent, unlike far, far too many English people who reckon they are god's gift.

I personally was strongly warned at a UKIP meeting in Swansea te be very careful in mentioning the Continent, apart from disparagingly, because one of the senior members "flew Spitfires in the war and doesn't like Germans".

I stand by my deep belief that England has lost an empire, doesn't know what to do with itself, and certainly cannot stand those Frogs, etc.

If England was so much happier in its own skin, perhaps it might have learned by now how to get on with the continentals, learned their languages a bit, and discovered how to sell them things. Like cars... vans ... buses ... lorries ... trains. Although I think Liquorice Allsorts go quite well on the Continent.

"Historically, the party has been based upon those who fought during the last war – and therefore dislike the Germans – and on those who dislike Europe because they remember the glories of the empire."

What a complete and utter misrepresentation! How does dislike of a political institution be compared to dislike of foreigners. UKIP leader, Nigel Farage's wife is German. In fact at least 3 of our MEPs have foreign wives, and one of our MEPs is Spanish!

UKIP believes in cooperation, collaboration and trade, but not a binding federal political union which is superior to national parliaments.
